Needs and Challenges in Bukavu
Female entrepreneurship in Africa is experiencing significant growth, redefining traditional roles of women in the economy. While encouraging, this development comes with specific challenges. Female entrepreneurship plays an essential role in economic growth, job creation, and innovation, inspiring more and more women to seek financial autonomy, professional flexibility, and a positive social impact.
In this context, the Pour Elles RDC Project, funded by the French Development Agency (Agence Française de Développement) and implemented by Expertise France, aims to contribute to the economic empowerment of women in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This program focuses on supporting women entrepreneurs by offering them technical and financial assistance tailored to their needs.
OUR SUPPORT
Through this program, of which LA DIFFÉRENCE is a partner, we are committed to supporting 30 women entrepreneurs in the agribusiness and circular economy sectors in Bukavu, by providing them with the expertise, resources, and support necessary to develop and sustain their businesses.
To ensure the success of this initiative, it is crucial to fully understand the aspirations of women entrepreneurs, the challenges they face daily, and the type of support they need to succeed. With this in mind, in September 2024, LA DIFFÉRENCE conducted a survey among fifty-four women entrepreneurs in the agribusiness and circular economy sectors in Bukavu.
